Seven Grand

BBC News, it now costs £7000.00 to die, I'm glad that's one thing I can't afford, can you? Watch out all you rich pensioners.

Re: Seven Grand

It doesn't have to cost that much we have found a company that does a basic funeral for about a £1000. Can be less than that is you aren't bothered about a ceremony and dispose of the ashes yourself.

I don't think my death will cost that much Paul, no funeral and a woodland burial in a wicker casket.
Current prices are around £750

£7000 is for bells and smells and a lot of pomp

Re: Seven Grand

Indeed only person I know actually spent the £7000 had all the bells and whistles, bagpipes and 4 cars. I think having been there is was way over the top but because he left the money to do it with his wishes written down I felt it was appropriate for him, but something I would hate for me.

Meg, I want the same as you and have a woodland burial, but I found it just as dear, in fact slightly dearer, than a traditional burial.
Some may think it mad, but when I'm gone, I would rather look up and see a beautiful tree full of birds singing, than a great lump of concrete/marble dropped on top of me!

Re: Seven Grand

If that's what it costs then just chuck me in a bin bag and push me over a cliff. Simples.

Re: Seven Grand
