Did I read somewhere that the best time to photograph the moon is when it's half Mart? In that way you can see all the contours. Nice photo though....
I don't know for sure but think that could be true. There is the transition from light to dark across the Moon's surface and this must produce a few highlights and shadows where the join is. Something for the camera to pick up on ..if the camera is good enough.
With that shot done with my own camera (20X zoom), it's just possible to see a few contours on the upper right-hand side of the Moon.
