I have never heard the word podger, and I have no idea what a nob is...
I've seen scaffolding erectors using various sorts of todger but in essence it's a tapered bar of steel bar that is used on scaffolding clamps through an often worn fastening bracket.

A nob on the other hand ranges from a sort of handle --- to a penis.

Looking at the post and the context I would suspect it didn't mean a drawer or cupboard handle ------

Well, the nob explanation is taken care of, but it is podger, not todger....perhaps you were over excited to share your nob knowledge and just misread podger?
