Re: Eileen unwell

I've only seen MRIs on television and they look daunting so it is comforting to hear that people who have had them sound encouraging.

Re: Eileen unwell

I never said that an MRI scan hurt. I just said I hated it and that was because of the unexpected noises from it which disturbed me which I hadn't been warned about. No, there's no discomfort or pain at all.

When I had mine, there was a point where it sounded like there was somebody on a 1000 cc motorbike a couple of inches from my head, revving, probably because they were concentrating on my brain! It was awful, but it didn't hurt.

Every time there was a new noise, my heart leapt, so I don't know how they expect you to be totally still. I didn't mind the hums, but the grating noises were horrible.

Anyway, that was my own personal experience, so I hope Eileen will be just fine. It is the best way to see what the problem is.

Re: Eileen unwell

If you weren't warned about the noises ahead of time it would certainly be unsettling. I was told, and I was curious to hear them, so that helped.

As odd as this sounds I began to imagine how a symphonic background could be played to complement all those strange variations.

Just nipped over to Catsey Mags and they are preparing the van again for a trip over the seas - hilarious. I hope Eileen is feeling better today.

Yes, I've noticed that, Mary! I hope Elaine kits the van out better than last time ..... Eileen was out of hospital before the van reached her then! I must remind them to take a good compass!

i understand exactly what you mean it is awful being in hospital, all we can do it make people as comfortable as
possible, tests can be daunting and waiting round for results can be very stressful, the MRI is not in any way painful, but unless you know what to expect it can be a shock with the
noise.

as daft as it sounds on the three occasions i have been in
hospital myself i hated it

Re: Eileen unwell

If I'd been warned about the MRI I would have been okay, but I wasn't, and at the end of it I came out shaking like a leaf.

Anyway, this isn't about me, it's about Eileen, so I hope she's coping well with the tests etc, and hope to hear something positive very soon. Pains in the back can be very difficult to diagnose as it depends on which part of the back is affected. The lass has been in pain for a while now though, and this does need sorting.

Eileen, we all care a great deal about you on here lass so hope you get well soon.

Mags darlin' - where's the Van sailing from??? - Do I need to find my Sextant, Chronometer, up-to-date Charts of the North Atlantic, and a good Compass binnicle. I hope the Van has a decent two-way radio and some survival equipment and a life raft too.

Re: Eileen unwell
