This is from 1965. Carson hosted the 'Tonight Show', Rat Pack and Quincy Jones conducting the Basie band, visible in the background.

Thanks for this buzzie!

I loved Johnny Carson; one of my treats as a child was being allowed to stay up late and watch some of the Tonight Show. It was considered so adult then; would probably be quite tame in comparison with what's on these days
