Speedbumps.
HiVentured out early.
There are two designs of speed bumps, the continuous ones which go right across the road and those with gaps in.
Both work well.
The ones with gaps in allow water to flow down the gutters to the road gulleys.
My Council do not do them.
The sewers are overflowing, so on one side of the speed bump you get a pool of water contaminated with sewage.
When you go through it the sewage splashes up onto the pavement or the pedestrian crossing.
People are having to walk through toilet paper and poo etc.
I slow down for them, idiots in large 4x4s do not.
One such came speeding past my car, spraying it with a wave.
Arrived home to find a tampon and a condom stuck on my car.
Idiots.

Yes, that is what it is like in parts of the UK.
Not everywhere though, London and the South East are protected.
On the Positive side of things, I am hardly likely to be shot here.
Our Gun Laws are very strict.
Yes, we have knife crime, but seeing as I rarely venture out into those areas and those times it is not a worry for me.
I am a highly trained Enforcement Officer.
Druggies with knives are not an issue.
I understand your point of view.
I have spent a lot of time on visits to Quantico.
They think I am mad for not carrying a firearm and not wearing armour.
Such is life, different perspectives.
