Re: Russian trawlers in scottish waters??

Hi

I like porbeagles, great fun to catch.

I do not eat them.

Brexit will not be good for me.

My favourite wrecks will be out of bounds.

I can live with that.

The one thing I will not be doing is going to France to fish them from there.

I will not give them a penny.

Can you satisfy me on the fact,( that you verified in your earlier
Post), that the area involved was declared an internatioal
fishing conservancy area a couple of years ago by the EU??
And also that dutch super trawlers were observed dredging there
on earlier occasions aswell??

I wonder if the sharks find it great fun to be caught?

Or any fish for that matter.

To be feeding, as all living creatures must do, and have a viscous sharp hook embed itself in their mouth and find themselves being dragged through the water, terrified, in pain, and powerless to escape.

Not even to be eaten, but just to give some strange "pleasure" to their torturer.

Sport fishing? A classic example of an oxymoron if ever there was.

And yes, it has been conclusively proven that fish DO experience pain.

I must agree there Todgy!!
I think that, as with hunting animals,
I you catch it, you must eat it, and that includes gutting and skinning
as well!!
As you say hunting for FUN is an oxymoron!

I have to agree with Todger's post Swim.

If someone catches a rabbit or fish because they need food, I could understand that.
But we don't trap birds, rabbits, poultry, lambs etc and release them again, just for fun - so why Fish?

Why traumatise any creature merely for human pleasure?

Selsey is great for hounds. Fished there a few times and had to run after my rods up the beach.

Yes, I do eat fish, Bread.
But I hope they are not caught and released 10 times first just to show someone's so-called 'skills.'

No, I can't confirm that donks, because that's not true. Declaring protection zones in fishing waters, is up to the country the waters belong to, in this case the UK. The EU approved of this, in other words, they said: well done britain.
Maintaining these zones is a matter for the UK. At the moment 40% of british waters are protected. So you should chase away those russians, or is that too big a challenge?

UK goes top of European protection ranking with 41 new marine conservation zones
https://www.undercurrentnews.com/201...rvation-zones/

The UK government has been praised by environmental NGO Oceana for creating 41 new marine conservation zones (MCZs) one week ahead of World Oceans Day.* The new zones will be added to the UK existing tally, bringing it to a total coverage of 91 zones

The news brings the UK to the top of Oceana's leaderboard in terms of marine protection in Europe, with 40% of its waters now protected.* "We hope that all 91 zones will be properly managed, and no bottom-trawl fishing allowed, which harms habitats ...
