Re: Random acts of kindness!

Dodge I would do the same . I've seen kids turned off the bus , one panicky child about 10 the anxiety spilling out of him and the selfish driver told him to get off , I was bl.......y livid . I paid the childs fare .

Very unkind of the driver. What's a few pence and who would have known.

Yes lets be kind to each other. Why on earth wouldn't we .

Kind indeed. But one of the things that kinda irks me - a customer getting up to the till before having the cash ready to pay for the purchase. The guy probably felt the same way.

That said, I think we are generally kind people. My dear wife bakes cakes that we share with neighbours. We walk little Ozzie with our big Max.

We buy meds on line for an ex-neighbour's cats. We get better rates than she can at the pet store and she is not computer savvy. Sure, she pays us back for doing so.

We do what we can.

I think this is a great idea and I may do it myself. Maybe not flowers but it's a very inspiring thread. If enough people do this then you can change the world. I realise it sounds crazy to say that but it is like the butterfly effect. If everyone tried to do a kind deed each day wouldn't life for everyone change?

I gave my friend a bunch of flowers yesterday at random. She was delighted. She's just lost her dad and I thought some flowers would cheer her up when she wasn't expecting them.

That's a lovely gesture LQ. I believe flowers can give people hope and healing through the hardest times.

Re: Random acts of kindness!

I was at the allotment today shovelling woodchip into a wheelbarrow. There was a whole family on another allotment and all of their garden tools were all in use. The Mum and two children wanted some woodchip but they didn't have a spade to use.

I gave mine to them while I was barrowing the woodchip to our plot. When I got back to the pile, the Mum told me that the children had said I was a very nice man. They just don't know me.

thank you.

Yes, flowers usually do cheer people up especially at sad times, it helps them to know that someone is thinking of them.
I do it often, because I like to surprise people and make them happy and smile.

Re: Random acts of kindness!

This Thread reminds me of something that happened when I was 40 years old. I had broken up with my husband and wasn't getting out very much. One night I decided to go to the local bar but only stayed about a half an hour when the song came on the jukebox, made me sad so I left quietly and went back home.

About 20 minutes later, there came a knock to my door. I opened it up and there stood a man that I barely knew holding a small bunch of flowers. He had such a kind look on his face, and said he noticed me at the bar, saw I was sad and hoped these would cheer me up. It was exactly what I needed at exactly that time. I thanked him, and he left.

About two weeks later, I saw him again, and we dated for a short time, always with others around, so I felt included in the group.

This memory is one of my fondest when I think of a simple act of kindness.

I think it is lovely when people are kind to others, especially when it is a stranger.
It doesn't have to involve money, any kind gesture is good, and I am sure many people show kindness without even thinking about it!
The world would be a much nicer place if we were all kind to each other.
