Re: Let's go back in time..
I was still playing with my dolls and dolls prom until l was 13. There was no rush to grow up in those days.
I’d imagine that at 15, I was taking my poodle out for a walk or over the cricket field or the common with my sisters and friends to watch the boys sitting in a circle playing cards. Their bikes with cow horn handle bars were just lying on the grass around them. Some would let me sit on the crossbar while they rode over the rough, bumpy ground. That could be scary.
It was all just innocent fun then and probably the highlight of the day was all go to each other’s houses and play records, Billy Fury, Eden Kane, Bobby Vee, Helen Shapiro etc
We had to be back early and if we were late, my mother would come across the field on her blue Palm Beach bicycle. We knew it was her by the light on the front of her bike where the beam was going in all directions due to the bumpy ground.
