In the early days of tea-drinking, cups were inclined to crack when hot tea was poured into them. Wedgwood china was the first to incorporate bone, hence the name bone china. In order to minimize the temperature difference which caused cracking, the British fell into the habit of pouring the milk first.Re: Leaf Tea or Teabag
