Saying as you did he should stay there ?
Why would anyone make such a horrible comment ?
What does it gain you ?
A young man someones loved son someones loved husband .
Judgemental nasty comments say far more about the person who makes them .
Personally I am delighted that this young man is back with his loved ones .

The child is supposed to have been brought up there so should know you do not go round asking what to that part of the world are very sensitive questions with out serious repercussions

So he deserves all he gets and should have been left there for at least a year to learn his lesson
