Weak as water!
"Mitch McConnell grew furious at Trump after he 'threatened to sabotage Georgia GOP Senate candidates if they didn't back his election conspiracy and demanded secret meeting with Perdue at Mar-a-Lago" 26th January 2021" Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, has told associates that he believes President Trump committed impeachable offenses and that he is pleased that Democrats are moving to impeach him, believing that it will make it easier to purge him from the party, according to people familiar with his thinking. January 12th 2021
But...Trump called, McConnell obediently came to heel with his tail between his legs, and kisses his bosses arse once again.
“The Senate on Tuesday tabled a motion by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) that would have dismissed the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, but 45 Republicans sided with Paul on the motion, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)—a sign Democrats do not have the votes to convict Trump.
McConnell, the most powerful Republican in the upper chamber, was thought to have privately supported the impeachment effort, having blamed Trump for provoking the rioters in a speech on the Senate floor earlier this month.
As reports swirled that McConnell was considering voting to convict Trump, Republicans warned doing so would threaten his position in the party. In an interview with Fox News last week, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) cautioned any Republican who tried to “erase” the former president from the party would be “erased” themselves.“
“On Jan. 6, after the insurrection, McCarthy voted against certifying Biden’s victory while questioning the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.”
...after that:
“The president bears responsibility for the attack on Congress by mob rioters,” McCarthy said on the House floor. “He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. These facts require immediate action by President Trump.”
“Our democracy cannot be disrupted by criminal behavior. We will not falter. We will not bend. We will not shrink from our duty,” McCarthy said. “Let me be clear, mobs don’t rule America.”
...and now:
“House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy backs away from blaming Trump for Capitol insurrection. Trump affectionately labeled him “my Kevin.”
This is sickening. These ´ Representatives´ are as weak as water (quote Mrs. Slocombe), no backbone, no selfrespect.
Just plain and simple obedience and submission to a wannabee-dictator, the ex-prez of the US. Not interested in the wellbeing of the country, just enslavement in the hope of a “good boy” or a pet on the back.
