How old do you feel, both mentally and physically?

Meg's and AutumnColour's posts in some recent threads got me thinking about this - how old do we feel?

Do you still have the same outlook on life you did in your twenties? Or have you become a miserable ol git?

How old do you feel physically? Your age, or can you still run rings around some of these youngsters?

I'm still 30 - a great age to be - me body needs an MOT though, we're not made right , we should be able to order spare parts and fit them ourselves - I never aim to be a miserable ol woman, that's for sure

frustratingly enough I still feel like a young woman, I love to flirt and I can admire younger guys. I think my youthful approach is down to having a good sense of humour as laughter really is the best medicine, we're too long dead so enjoy what life has to offer while you still can

Not sure how old I feel, probably mid fifties but I'm older than that - I can certainly move a hell of a lot quicker and for longer than many of my workmates.....and they're nearly all younger - some much younger - than me!
My outlook on life has changed - I think it has to when you realise there are more years behind you than in front of you..
If I want to do something, and I am able to, I don't waste any time getting on with it, unlike when I was younger.

I don't feel my age mentally, maybe 20+ years younger . I have been told several times that I appear a lot younger than my years (they are my friends for life now) I don't feel that I've grown old, I still have a young outlook on life.

My biggest compliment came from my hairdresser a couple of years ago when I asked for their current price list. She brought me the normal one so I asked for the Senior Citizen one .... she replied 'oh I'm afraid that is only for over 60's'! She still mentions it every time I go there

My body appears to have aged before my brain I still have a good laugh and joke around with my 40 year old twins and I love playing games, indoor as well as outdoor games, with my grandchildren.

I feel my age in both mind and body neither of which are as quick as they once were

There was a time when I could work day and night but not anymore. This can be difficult to come to terms with when I want to do something but don't have the energy.

That said I still manage very well keeping my house and garden in good order and helping to look after the grandchildren

Before I broke my ankle I would say I felt young in body & mind. Unfortunately an inactive summer due to leg in plaster and a tummy bug last weekend has made me lifeless..
Mentally though I feel about 35...

My grandfather was a miserable old git and that’s the last thing I want to be, every time I feel like getting grumpy I always think of him and I snap out of it like a light. I’m cheerful and smily most of the time, although you can’t go around laughing all the time, the lads with the white coats see to that.
I have a set of exercises I do religiously every day (only 45 minutes) and that keeps me fit and agile. As regards feeling my age, sometimes when I look back on all the people I knew who are now dead I do feel old, but I never dwell on it for long. Mental age with me adjusts, for example with my newest grandson I can be a year and a half, with my oldest grandson I can be 15, kids like you to be on the same level as them, and of course when I'm with the old lads in the local we all act our ages, and when you are on here you can be any age you like, nobody minds.
Grandkids are great for helping you to keep abreast of things as they are today, get some if you can.
The bottom line is I don’t want to go on until I’m a walking set of bones, helpless and dependant on others to help me wash and put on my clothes, if I kicked the bucket tomorrow I’d be very happy with the life I had and the family I leave behind, I’m sure they won’t remember me as a grumpy old git.

What set of exercises do you do daily Jem? Sorry not meaning to hijack thread, just off to work and your comment caught my eye.

Will respond later to what age I actually feel - sadly I think it's older than my years. Tired and sluggish.

Physically well, my left big toe is still in working order

Mentally. Why do people keep telling me to grow up?

Does old or elderly automatically mean grumpy? Because I know some people who were born old
