Supreme Court nominee accused
Federal Lower court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is up for a position as one of the 9 Supreme Court Justices to replace a retiring Justice. Once confirmed and sworn in, the position is for the remainder of his/her life or until he/she retires.
Justice Kavanaugh is conservative and the liberal democrats can not stop his appointment because the democrats are in the minority. During the last 2 weeks Justice Kavanaugh has been on the hot seat before the Justice committee of the Congress. He was cross-examined at length and did exceedingly well.
HOWEVER, at the last possible moment, a woman has stepped forward and claimed that when Brett Kavanaugh was 17 years old, he attempted to sexually assault her at a beer party. The alleged assault occurred 25 years ago. This type of smear campaign is not at all an unusual tactic used by liberals to discredit conservatives.
It should be noted that at the time of the alleged assault the girl, who was age 15 at the time, did not make any police report.
This is another case of "he said, she said", concerning an event that allegedly occurred decades before. How does a person disprove a negative? It can't be done !
Without some credible evidence to support her claims, it is quite unlikely that the confirmation can be stopped.
