My grandad and uncle were cobblers!
You could say I come from a load of them.
On my Dad's birth certificate his father was described as "journeyman" I think that meant travelling cobbler.
Dad was born in 1907, youngest of 13, his cobbler brother was the eldest, crippled with arthritis since a small child, he still fought in the First World War. I have some of his tiny nails (which I still use) from his cobbling days. A neighbour nicked his last which Dad had as an ornament in the garden.
There, a little story for a Saturday morning!
