It's a hell of a lot more democratic than the UK and has a government much closer to the people than most of Europe, especially the UK. I lived and worked there donkeys years ago at CERN. Only a few months but thoroughly impressed.

There will always be people who object to the royals, but so many more people love having a monarch that is respected by people in this country & abroad.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I would like to see proof that they don't bring money into the UK.

A study by the Brand Finance Network estimated that in 2017 the monarchy generated a gross uplift of £1.766bn to the UK economy.13 Oct 2020

A new study implies that the British Royal Family are a bargain for the taxpayer! The Queen and the British Royal family 'works harder' and is 'more value for money' than many of their European counterparts – a new study has found. ... This works out as £1.14 per year, per British taxpayer.28 Sept 2020

If people want to see our historical and architectural sites why don't they go on a quiet day, when the people who like the royals are are watching a royal wedding or other significant royal events & why are these places unable to finance their own upkeep if they are so popular?

How many world leaders dedicate their lives to their country, as our queen has done?
I am happy to give my £1.14 a year because, despite some people's objections to them, I believe they have been worthwhile & hope they continue!
And you believe that load of propaganda? As for the queen what has the woman actually DONE? Answer? Other than what she wanted to do ----- NOTHING. Just been a drain on us.

So Switzerland has mandatory conscription - why? If you are going to be neutral every time there is a conflict. Of course other than guarding the Pope

The UK Royal Family is big, it's survived longer than most, lets keep it rolling. It can't be difficult.

I don't find them loathsome, I hope our monarchy will go on and on

That just involves a rubber stamp. Thankfully she has no real power.

For self defence. It's to ensure there is a trained defence force, not to get involved in American adventures. Exactly what the UK should be hence the need to GTFO of NATO.
