To the best of my knowledge, if you have obtained an academic doctorate, yes, you retain that title until death (or even afterwards) unless for some reason it is rescinded.

If a medical 'doctor' (the Germans use the word Artzt to differentiate from the academic Doktor / Doktorin) you might be referred to as a retired doctor unless, for some reason, you have been barred from practising - like that one who used to kill all his patients!

For example, if you're on an aeroplane and someone shouts, "Is there a doctor on board", the assumption is that they want the help of a medical practitioner, and even a retired one would do!

Actually, it occurs to me that it would be quite funny if someone stood up and announced, "Yes, I have a PhD in gender studies".

No matter what he said to Ophrah, it doesn't change the Duke was still his Grandpa.

I think this is all pretty shabby anyway. Todays papers are page after page of scrutinizing Harry, with photographs taken from all angles trying to pick apart his behaviour.

I say give it a rest. Yesterday shouldn't have been about Harry, it wasn't HIS day.
Don't reporters think the Queen had enough to contend with without everyone practically dissecting her close family at a funeral!

Not one single person knows the true story and facts of who said what to cause the this family rift, we only saw the Oprah interview, and Meghan had most to say even then. After all, how many of us have family rifts too?

Me and my brother haven't spoken since my Mum died in 2014, but there is good reason for that and it's not for others to judge without knowing the first thing about it.

Are Royals not allowed a family fall out too?

Yes, ladies. Can I say again, it was a family situation, a widow grieving, the entire family.... paying respect to a wonderful man, and not about anyone else other than carrying out the wishes of Prince Philip.
Could we all be respectful of this?

I would hope so, but there will always be some who don't know how to show respect and prefer to criticize.... even when it may be unjustified! Nobody knows what was said or done or who was right or wrong.... yet everybody has an opinion!

Re: Prince Harry's army career.

Although she is well over the required age of 50, I think it is fortunate that the Queen is not a member of OFF.

Or is she?

Lion Queen, is that you? (Your Majesty?)

Re: Prince Harry's army career.

I hope Prince Harry did his fortnight in hotel quarantine before he was allowed to get anywhere near the Queen of Australia.
