It's always interesting to hear things like this - that flora held dear in one country can be considered a pest in another. I for one would love to see lupins growing wild, they're such beautiful flowers! Here one of the wild flowers that people curse is the Spanish bluebell, which has all but taken over from the indigenous English bluebell. The Spanish one has the edge in that it can grow just about anywhere, in full sunlight, while the English one is a shy little flower, preferring shaded areas, mostly in woodland.
