Life Changing Events.

Hi

It is my view that we have got this wrong.

They can affect all of us without warning, Cancer, Heart Attacks etc.

The footballer, as fit as a fiddle, bang down he goes.

The randomness of Covid, some are badly affected, some sail through it.

They are silent illnesses, especially Cancer.

Nobody is immortal, we will all die.

Knowing you are affected is not at all bad, it allows you to plan the inevitable.

I have vascular disease, it will kill me, something will kill all of us.

The advantage of knowing what you have got are many.

I know the signs and have the medication to hand, a much better situation than those who are unprepared.

Once you rationalise it, it is not a bad place to be.

It actually gives you a longer lifespan and more chance to enjoy it.

It's a fact that you have to remain philosophical about death, you never know when your time is up, and the human race is notorious for having a 100% mortality rate..

Hi

Exactly Barry.

It is all about the life in your days, not the days in your life.

Enjoy every minute.

Re: Life Changing Events.

A footballer went down in our village yesterday and needed CPR, you are right.
As long is the sun is shining I'm happy.
Mums lived with conditions most of her life, and is still here, and has a good life.
Really great outlook to have.

Being dead can't be so bad. It's getting there that's the scary bit.

Could you give an example of a noisy illness, just to put some perspective on the silent ones?

Any illness which makes you go "ouch!" maybe?.

In seriousness though....some respiratory illness can be pretty noisy, wheezy breaths, coughing etc. COPD, Emphysema, something like that?
