The way the entering light has distorted one's perception of what's in front of the eye, makes the parallel tube look conical and full marks for considering and capturing that effect.

Interesting realspeed. I have a friend who suffers from the eye condition Retinitis Pigmentosa which can lead to tunnel vision. If you reduce the size of the opening by half that’s roughly how she sees the world.
