Serengeti BBC

Has anyone been watching this? Gripping, beautifully filmed and so powerful.

I'm just in awe of the film makers to capture such moments in the lives of these amazing animals in their quest to survive the vagaries of nature.

Re: Serengeti BBC

I've been watching it, love the programme. My heart missed a beat when the baby elephant almost got washed away.

...... and yes, the poor grieving giraffe watching over the body of her dead baby

I cannot see or hear the word Serengeti without automatically conjuring up visions of Armand and Michaela Denis and those BBC wildlife documentaries of the 1950s.

I haven't seen the program you refer to though.

Re: Serengeti BBC

Beautifully filmed program, but all BBC wildlife programs are.
I'm not keen on the way they try to humanize the animals, but it does make for a good story.
There was no doubt that the giraffe mum was mourning her baby & the other animals were also, but there is no way we can guess what they were really feeling.

Don't you know the difference between an ass and your arse?

noun: ass; plural noun: asses

1. an animal of the horse family, which is typically smaller than a horse and has longer ears and a braying call.
synonyms: donkey; jackass, jenny; cuddy; informalmoke, neddy
"he rode on an ass"
(in general use) a donkey.

2. informal•British
a foolish or stupid person.

It's the name you gave yourself I merely abbreviated it to save time and data costs.
