I'd start looking now Julie, and tell them to stuff their contract. There's never much work about after christmas.

Judging by what Julie has told us ... I wouldn't hold my breath that her employers will see her right.Good, reliable and conscientious cleaners are hard to come by.
Really Julie .. I hope you find a better employer.
They sound shocking , if not downright illegal. I know a bit about the cleaning industry and 'on the side' cleaners in the hidden cleaning industry get treated better than you. Your bosses sound like they massively undercut to get cheap contracts and then fleece their own staff to bridge their shortfall.
