Well that sounds like a good plan LongDriver, but I don't think I'd want to use my domestic sewing machine to sew something like polypropylene rope - I might end up with lots of broken needles. Maybe, maybe not. But that apart, I really wouldn't like the look or feel of it.

Thank you Fruitcake - yes there definitely seems to be a resurgence, doesn't there? I think it's possibly because of the internet - lots of online videos and tutorials showing us ideas that we would never have thought of years ago.

Yes, I put the rope planter inside the duck planter. Didn't want to fill it with compost & ordinary plant pots wouldn't have fitted. I collect duck related items.
