Moody blues

If you are in a bad mood, do you prefer to be left alone or have someone to cheer you up?

Re: Moody blues

I'd rather be with people, but only certain people.
Problem with being left alone is that your mind can be your worst enemy ..

Re: Moody blues

I prefer to be on my own, working away at something I like doing till I work the bad mood out of my system. If I'm with anyone, even though I know they have the best of intentions trying to 'cheer me up', I'm likely to snap at them, which I know I'll regret later, so it's safer if I'm left in peace to work through it by myself

Re: Moody blues

I thought this thread was about The Moody Blues, a 1960's band.
Oh well!
If I get mad, I throw things then feel better, I don't get moods.

Excellent point ! When down and lonely, and all alone, it is too easy to think negatively.

Re: Moody blues

My mood is usually very level. On the odd occasion I am in a bad mood it's either due to lack of sleep or if someone has really upset me in some nasty way.

The answer for lack of sleep is obvious, a good, restful night. A really bad upset takes longer, usually though I simply don't allow anyone to get to me in that way.

One other strange mood happens when for some unknown reason I am in a bad mood all day.
The next morning it's all forgotten and it's back to my very level mood.

No choice about being on my own or not as I am on my own anyway.

Strange I know, but that's me and I get on with me OK!

I’m glad this strategy works for you
