Re: 3yr fishing deal???

This business of allowing EU countries to fish in our waters is interesting.

Ideally, we should be able to fish our own waters without any competition and, if the EU countries want to buy our fish, then that's fine.

Unfortunately, the EU's requirement for fish would probably exceed what our fishermen could catch, at least until our fishery industry has expanded, so one of two things would have to happen:

1. We allow the EU countries to fish in our waters under licence, landing their fish in one of our ports for monitoring purposes and to ensure they don't exceed their allowances. Any processing should, of course, be done by our own people.

OR

2. The Europeans change their dietary habits!

Yes it is interesting JBR, at present they steal our fish and then sell
it back to us?
So why cant we do the same to them, except that we are not
stealing their fish, the fish are ours unless they swim out of our
waters !!
I think it was you that suggested we declare a moritorium on
fishing for the first couple of years to allow the stocks to recover
and for us to rebuild our fishing industry ??
A good idea l think?? But l cant see the frogs going for that!

I was thinking of the Europeans and being kind in suggesting we could either sell them our fish or possibly allow them to fish for limited numbers.

But you're right. Why should we be kind? Have they ever been kind to us? Of course not.

No. We keep the fish we need and prevent anyone else fishing in our waters to allow stocks to recover.

But what about the poor Frogs?

Sod the poor Frogs!

And again (because you keep ignoring it in favour of your own bias) I will show you this:
"Plus I hate to tell you this but - as the EU is well aware because it is a part of their guidelines - "In accordance with the principle that nothing is agreed until everything is agreed, individual items cannot be settled separately."
Section 1 Para 2
https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/p...it-guidelines/

Do you see what that very clearly says?
Unless a deal is agreed, nothing has been agreed.
You can't deal with individual things seperately.
It is in black & white from the EU themselves.
So, since there is no deal currently on the table, the bit you are wittering on about ceases to be of any relevance whatsoever and no laws have been broken.
None
."

Nothing has been agreed yet, Swimfeeders.
Not fishing.
Not your treaty (unless there is a deal, see above).
Nothing.
When it eventually is you can have your tantrum if you want, but throwing a paddy now just makes you look silly.
Again.

My own quote taken from another reply to you here:
Post # 19 in "Goodbye Schengen" thread
Zaphod,
Have you got another link to this? I wanted to send to a friend but the link doesn't work for me.
Thanks

Yes, it's almost as if the EU don't really want us to see their rules isn't it?

I particularly liked this bit:

"The United Kingdom's decision to leave the Union creates significant uncertainties that have the potential to cause disruption, in particular in the United Kingdom but also, to a lesser extent, in other Member States."

I suspect the truth will be the inverse.
