Christmas Pudding...

...Is traditionally eaten after the Christmas dinner, no doubt and has been for many years.
However, this year was so different. Neither of us wanted any Pudding after our Dinner, as we were both quite full. We thought that we would have it on Boxing day, instead...But no!
By Monday tea-time, (Bank holiday) we had decided to have a more simple meal of fried eggs & chips...It was at this point we thought we would consume that Christmas Pudding...

I can recommend it, just for a change!

YANI

Christmas pudding is a rich pudding containing dried fruit & spices
Google 'Christmas Pudding USA' and there are several importers & mail order (within USA) distributors

In Britain it is usually served with custard or brandy sauce. Apparently American custard is different to British custard; you could try it with thick cream or plain vanilla icecream
Or Google for brandy sauce recipes

Another favourite for Christmas are mince pies. At one time they contained minced (ground) meat, hence the name, and also fruit & spices, but now they are almost all fruit, with just a token bit of suet to add richness

I gather that one thing Brits miss when they move abroad is marmalade for breakfast, which is basically orange jam

Surf away!

Thanks for the info, Zulu. It sounds somewhat similar to fruitcake, here in the US.
