Re: Psoriasis

Graham remember too that there are a number of different kinds of psoriasis and what is suitable for one type may not be for another...

Maybe as said - what works for some - not others. Regarding sunlight, this was the trial at a German-Austrian clinic, it worked for the patients as well as the Eucerin cream. Wish you every success with finding a solution..

It's a shame GP's don't understand that, as they seem to offer one treatment to all despite many patients showing they get worse with the treatment prescribed.

Re: Psoriasis

I bought some rosehip seed oil recently for eczema, and it's supposed to be useful for psoriasis too (although I'm reading here that there are different types). I was using it to moisturize my hands too and am very surprised to note it's fading age spots, which I didn't expect. Here's one link which describes making soap with it, and I know there are other websites with info on rosehip seed oil as well.

Re: Psoriasis

Graham matey, like Sue (Annie Jack) I too have tiny spots of eczema, - one on each knuckle of my middle finger. As and when it flares up and begins to itch and sting, I rub a small amount of E45 cream on it and the itching subsides. Maybe that might also help you OH.

Re: Psoriasis

Geoff - what's E45? Might it be sold under another name on my side of the pond?

Wouldn't help with psoriasis though. After surgery, my surgeon told me to use E45 cream on the scar twice a day which I did and the scar is pretty much invisible now. They also do an E45 Itch Cream (which I used on psoriasis before I realised what it was) and it did stop the itching - for a while. It's a very good range of products (although the E45 bath cream, be very careful, your bath becomes very, very slippery)

You're very welcome Uncle Joe - E45 and I became well acquainted, it's one of the few creams I would recommend highly (jumping on my surgeons bandwagon but hey - I don't mind cheating a bit!)

U j oe thanks for that , but its a much larger problem, but we will keep trying . just discarded another cream. i think even the specialists are just shooting in the dark, there doesnt seem to be one cure for all.
