I'm pleased to hear you had such a good crop Nero, you can't beat freshly dug new tatties.

I was surprised too DM, we don't have a lot of ground to cultivate because of the dogs, the pot the potatoes were in is only 3 foot wide, next year I'll plant more coz there's nothing like fresh tatties.

Re: Harvest time

Lucky you. I tried to grow them in pots once without much success, what's the secret to growing them in pots?

Big uns DM, not all of them were big, the usual mix of various sizes, very similar to growing them in soil, I think the reason we've got a good crop is the wet summer we've had.

Re: Harvest time

I'll have to get the ones in the front border lifted too, . . there's 8 of them, . . unbeknown to the wife I planted them between her shrubs, . . when they started to appear she wondered what they were, . . I just nodded and told her to let em grow, they might be exotic plants blown in on the wind.

Re: Harvest time

That reminds me of what happened years ago. Dad and I were talking, and he mentioned that it was odd that none of the the sunflower seeds he'd planted unbeknownst to me in my veggie plot had ever come up. I then realized what those odd "weeds" that had been coming up and pulled out were.....
