Any excuse to drop in to a post alliteration, my favourite figure of speech.
AVOIRDUPOIS? It used to be on the back of every school exercise book and dictionary. It goes something like this. One Rod Pole or Perch equals, I can't remember now.
12 inches=1foot;3feet =1yard; 22 yards= 1 chain; 10chains=1furlong; 8furlongs=1mile. I do remember "rods, poles and perches" but I can't remember where they fit in.

Is anyone else guilty of measuring in feet and inches still?
