New Treason Laws

The Treason Act of 1351

Our Treason laws haven't been updated since WW2.

Is it time?

Former Home Secretary Amber Rudd, MI5 chief and Lord Chief Justice all say that it is high time...

The Treason Act of 1351 has not been used since 1946 but should now be revised to prosecute terrorists amid growing fears that British laws are currently not tough enough to deal with returning jihadis.

There is growing concern over the treatment of returning jihadists, with only a fraction of those who have travelled to Syria facing prosecution.

There should be only one punishment for treason and/or terrorists and that is death. Not in a blaze of media attention - that would make martyrs of them - they should be quietly disposed of and their remains used for research/transplants/whatever.

Re: New Treason Laws

I think we have frowned on too many countries for having the 'death penalty',we can't stand in judgement as a nation and then renege on our own position without rebuffs.

I don't like the thought of the death penalty , although in these cases, the crimes committed and the deliberate hidden ways of reaching their goal to take part in such horror, I consider it to be a voluntary act, and therefore yes ,there has to be something to make these people think twice.

Difficulty is , that if the laws are changed now they have a reason to claim the new laws were not in place before they joined their chosen destination, and therefore it can't apply to them and they must be exempt because they haven't committed the crime in this country anyway.
Treason is against ones own country.

If new laws come about, then we have to trust the right decision was made on our behalf.

I don't think that they should be used for medical research they were mostly on a diet of certain mind altering drugs , loads of them have been found.
