Happy New Year to you all, I hope 2019 is bigger and better than 2018 was for everyone!
Indeed it did pour about 7 or 8pm for a short while but it is summer and that is what happens in summer in January. Don't forget that Sydney has twice the annual rainfall of London but when it rains it really rains in short sharp bursts (none of that drizzle rubbish here).

Happy New Year, Bruce, and thanks for getting the celebration off with a bang!
My sons get the best view from the Garden Island Naval base on Sydney Harbour. Meanwhile Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore slams ticketed New Year's Eve events on state government land as 'outrageous'.

Personally I always watch it on TV. The ABC did a wonderful evening of entertainment
During the rendition of The Angels’ classic Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again?, a song which has come to include a notorious audience shout-back during the chorus. ABC technicians, on the alert for controversy, managed to keep the crowd to a dull whisper for most of the song - but thankfully, one or two faint bursts of “No way, get f---ed, f--- off” managed to pierce the harbour night.
It was a really great NYE broadcast

Oh yes they projected '2018' in one slide onto the Harbour Bridge but where would NYE be without its typos?
