Re: What's in a name.
No offence taken here Robert. I do understand what you mean, and I am as guilty as the rest. Off the forum I'm Jan..only my mother called me by my full name..usually with an after itRe: What's in a name.
Hi Robert people often have a user name to maintain a degree of anonymity. However I figure if people post their real name in their profiles they don't mind people knowing what it is and using it .Re: What's in a name.
I think when we join a forum we are sometimes rather wary of the unknown, and perhaps that is why we sometimes use such strange nom de plumes, but after a while when we find that the folks are pretty much OK and mostly genuine, then we sometimes regret it and would like to revert to our real names. To be honest I regret using "plantman" on this forum now and much prefer to be called Barry. I also much prefer to use other's real names if it is on their profile, as I now regard most of you as friends rather than mere penpals...Re: What's in a name.
I used clumsy because I was clumsy enough to trip and smash my arm and shoulder shortly before I joined (I still don't know how I managed to do so much damage on one little trip !). Loretta is my real middle name, my first name is too embarrassing to put, someone must have had a real sense of humour.
