I am also against having a closed section,I have no objection to having a paranormal section, but it should be open to all members, not just a select few.

Re: forming a closed group for sharing experiences

An interesting subject so why have it in a closed group ! If anyone should attempt ridicule or such, I am sure they can be dealt with on an open Forum in the usual way.

I don't like closed groups either, it means potentially dangerous and harmful theories can go unchallenged.

Re: forming a closed group for sharing experiences

If when religion is talked about we have to accept people don't believe why should another belief be allowed a closed section ? We could end up with loads of sections with a few people in each surely if you believe something you can stand up and say so and accept others may not agree ?

Re: forming a closed group for sharing experiences

I don't agree with closed threads either because they have the potential to be divisive creating a forum within a forum. There's a risk that cliques can be formed, again with the potential of causing friction between members.

It would be interesting to know what Azz's view is on this.

I dont like closed off little cliques either..

I think members should be able to discuss whatever they like and in the areas of belief, tolerance and respect should be the foremost thought.

I think it's an area where people can be ridiculed for their experiences and beliefs so for that reason I agreed with SusanM...

Have just read this thread for the first time.
I imagine that ridicule is the main reason it was suggested it might be a closed group?
My opinion for what it's worth is that as it's a sensitive subject which always attracts a level of ridicule it should be open, but carefully monitored so that any deliberate attempts at sabotage and ridicule can be swiftly shown the exit and deleted.

If you want to bring up a subject then by all means do so on a thread so everyone can have a say

If you are granted it then I will straight away ask for one on photography. That will be the beginning of the end of the heading

OVER 50'S FORUM

iF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT PARANORMAL THEN JOIN A SITE THAT COVERS IT.

Don't join a forum like this then 3 months later try and change it .If you don't like it then you know what to do

I agree with all these posts, should not be cliquey IMO, that is off putting.
