It could happen!!
I wouldn't be scared, screaming is not a productive activity! Besides which, I have had much more scary encounters in my life! After checking it wasn't trying to sell me anything ,I would probably invite it in for a chat!

I, too, would wonder how s/he/it had learnt about doors and the need to knock on them.

I would insist all probing devices were left outside but then invite them in for a cuppa! Or probably not ...
