Tourists in Argentina unwittingly killed a rare baby dolphin after grabbing it out of the water so they could take selfies with it.

La Plata dolphins often swim close to the shoreline — and the calf was scooped up on the shore by a crowd of beachgoers at the Santa Teresita beach resort in Buenos Aires.

A huge crowd passed around the squirming dolphin for photos, but dolphins can’t stay out of the water for long, and sadly the animal died from dehydration.
