I guess if you've always done it, your body is used to it.

As for rescue workers risking their lives, isn't that what they sign up for?[/QUOTE]

Yes, that is true Sally, but the twerp who felt the need to go nude into the icy seas today, is deliberately putting himself at risk IMO. It is not the same as an accident occuring at sea.
And if he was daft enough to go swimming in -5 degs. why nude as well I wonder? And why not somewhere private?
Exhibitionist I say.
Brighton has a nudist beach. And people swim in freezing conditons in Norway for example, so perhaps not so unusual?

Each to their own.

Unfortunately Mups, there are some stupid men as well as stupid women, they give both sexes a bad name.
If i want frozen nuts I go to Iceland.

Why?

Then I called in M & S for a coffee, bought a paper, and saw a pictured of a nude man in Brighton - wasn't you, was it UJ?
There he was, little bare botty, on the beach in nothing but a swimming hat of all things, just heading into the sea for a swim!!
They said it was minus 5.

If the icy water caused a cardiac arrest, who is to blame?
Why should the rescue people have to risk their own lives to help a half-witted exhibitionist like that?

Has anyone seen a nude woman bathing in the sea today? NO.
Has anyone seen a postlady in shorts today? NO.

So why do men have to do these things?

I shall never understand men.

Not guilty darlin' - I was at the hospital this morning, besides which, I wouldn't go bathing in the sea at any time of the year.

There is a club (entitled the 'Shiverers') who go bathing every day of the year (including Xmas Day).

Re: I shall never understand Men

When I was younger I used to swim all year round in the sea here, these days I prefer the sea a bit warmer.

Why understand men? That's half the fun .. the other half of the fun is they make handy sex objects. It also helps if they can make a nice cuppa. Bring you nibbles whilst you're tapping away on here. Wash the dishes. Do the ironing ... and never cry off claiming a headache.

Re: I shall never understand Men

When I was about 12 a friend and I went swimming at the beginning of March, even in my home island it was pretty cold in the sea at that time of year. We were drying ourselves after our swim, when a head looked over the wall. It was a police officer, who frightened the life out of every one, he looked like someone the Germans had left behind. He gave us a lecture about swimming at that time of year and told us to go home immediately!

Silly old policeman, he obviously had nothing better do do.
