VIROL!!! The thing I blame for being overweight! I was a skiny child and my mum gave it to me on doctor's advise. Tasted of sort of malty toffee! I'm with Mags on this - I loved it too!

Re: What do you remember???

I used to have Virol as a child I too loved it I can remember most things mentioned and you have all bought back loads of memories When I first got married I had a washing machine with a mangle on it, also a huge mangle on a tub in the back yard for sheets and blankets and a gas boiler for boiling your washing ... I remember I bought a fab dress from Modelia in the Sale it was £2 which then was a third of my weeks wages (so not too cheap) it was a red and cream jersey shift dress that was quartered well the first time I washed it I put it through the mangle and it ripped it from top to bottom it broke my heart... When tights first came in they were very expensive and if I got a ladder in them I used to pull a hair out of my head and sew them with that, as the colour matched pretty good only trouble was by the time I bought the next pair they had hundreds of little lines in them where they had been sown
Oh fond memories....
Sue
