Has John Lewis finally lost the plot?

Not satisfied with having to close a countless number of stores and the general downward spiral of John Lewis customer service..... they come up with this.

It resembles a cheap Ikea type advert, not really the impression JL should be giving in my opinion. Plus there is the usual over the top 'inclusion'.

I'd better come clean LD, and admit I bought two of these sofas from the John Lewis ANYDAY range about a month ago. They are ok for the price, £299. Just wondering if Max Headroom has a couple as well!

Yes, but you will notice its only the trendy ones....no elderly, no disabled etc. Do they not go shopping, I take it? if they want to represent society, they need to do a better job than that.

They look okay to me. Are they comfy? - I'm thinking of replacing my lounge furniture as it's twenty years old and getting a bit dilapidated.

Judd, we find them a bit firm to sit on, but with a throw and some cushions, they are ok. I'll just quote one comment from their website, "The sofas themselves look good, but when you sit on them, don't expect to sink in and relax- they have certainly stopped the problem of ever falling asleep in front of the TV!" So you'd better watch TV programmes that are riveting! Got to commend the delivery guys, humped them up the stairs, and fixed the legs on, as that's all that needed doing. Me and the boss have got one each, well, you don't want to sit together, do you!?

I don't mind a firmer seat as long as the seats are high enough. That one of mine has sagged over the years, and it's becoming difficult to get up from.
