The first record I ever bought was a Christmas single. Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody. It cost me 70p from WH Smith in Stockport in 1973. I still have it in perfect condition in the original sleeve.

My favourite Christmas song of all time. I used to get told off by the teachers because I really used to belt it out when we were singing it in Assembly at Christmas. Love all the other hymns to but that one really gets me into the spirit of things.
Nothing beats a class of 5 or 6 year old singing little donkey, has me in floods of tears every year I hear it, looking forward to my sob this year with Gracie being in the concert.
Not many Schools stick to the Nativity Plays of old School ,so i hope you are not disappointed if you don't hear that particular Song.

Our CofE school has done the same nativity for the past 30 years, very popular with everyone as they tell the story and we have traditional carols. I can remember about 1990 they decided to change it and the riot that ensued convinced them tradition was best.
