Not hard or soft but "open" Brexit

Boris Johnson has written that we should have an "open" brexit

this includes :

1. Open to foreign talent and guaranteeing rights of EU citizens here (3.2m)
2. global hub for trade

He compares descriptions of hard and soft to parmesan or camembert cheese.

So, what's he on about?

Hi

His pipe dream.

He has said we can retain full access but with no right of free movement.

The EU have already said they will not allow that.

I wish him luck.

Hi

Yes, too true.

Unfortunately Boris is widely regarded as a joke worldwide.

What is even more unfortunate is that he described the principle players in the EU as Nazis.

They will not respond well to Boris , they have made that perfectly clear.

They can call it what they want, Hard, Soft, Open. As long as they remember that Brexit was the will of the majority at the time of voting. They voted for: Lest people forget.

No more open borders
Return of our own Laws
Return of our Sovereignty
Return of our Fishing Rights in British waters.
Form our own Bill of Rights and get rid of the Human Rights Act.

These are the red lines that the vote was taken on.
Already TM has buckled and has said we are keeping the Human Rights Act. Any further treachery and woe betide her.

Hi

A bit of disappointing news for you Shrops.

That is not what we voted on.

Many people thought we did, but they are wrong.

What we voted on, as Labour, the Lib Dems and others have pointed out, was the simple question on the Ballot Paper.

None of the so called Red Lines was on the ballot paper.

We can leave the EU and still have open Borders, Switzerland is not in the EU or the Single Market, but it still has open borders in order to secure it's trade deal.

May does not have a Parliamentary Majority for a Hard Brexit, not all Conservative MPs want one.

We cannot blame May if we do not have a Brexit as you describe.

Cameron wrote the question on the Ballot Paper, not May.

Re: Not hard or soft but "open" Brexit

Swimmy, I appreciate there was only the two questions on the form, but I can also guarantee that the reason almost every person put their cross next to us leaving was for the exact reasons I put.
I certainly do not want the Switzerland deal, they are just the EU's poodle, open borders and do as you are ordered if we allow you to have free trade.
No thank you. I want a clean break for us, No Single Market, No Customs Union unless on our terms, No open Borders, No longer taking Lion's share of fish stocks to the detriment of our own fishermen and industry, No more laws and unwanted red tape that affect our small businesses, many that have no dealings with the EU but are still punished.

We voted so that we would not be ruled under the jackboot of that dictatorship. Those that are attempting to make it so that we are all but in name still in, want stringing up!!

Well we know that the Government can't control our borders, so this won't change whatever they agree in Brussels. Convenient of them to blame EU policy. But it's good that Boris wants to help guarantee the rights of those EU citizens already here. I'm very much for that.

People still maintain that they knew what they were voting for!
