Tattoos

I was listening to an interesting programme on radio yesterday about the origin of tattoos and it made me wonder how many people over 50 have a tattoo other than maybe those who were in the navy. I say the navy because my Dad served during the war and he had a tattoo and he told me that most sailors had one.

Both of my daughters in law, in their early 40s, have tattoos of one kind or another but neither of my sons or grandsons (in their 20s) do.

Are tattoos a fashion accessory for some or do they actually have a meaning?

No I would never have one, I think they look awful. The idiots who get their faces tattooed are likely to be turned down for many jobs.

No I don’t have any tattoos, some look quite nice on people, and some suit people, some ladies I see out and about have their arms or legs tattooed with a small tastefully done ones, but others, it seems, don’t know when to stop....

How these little old ladies will get on in their eighties with...."Property of the Hells Angels"..on their nether regions God only knows.

Did you have it for any particular reason or just because you liked the idea of having a tattoo? If you don't mind me asking. One of my daughters in law has a small tattoo on her forearm which she designed herself to celebrate her 40th birthday.

Wasband has suddenly gone out and got several! I suggested a few, one on his forehead for instance.
