Hi
It most certainly is and we are about to get trounced.
We set off with our Red Lines and our War Cry, No Deal is better than a Bad Deal.
We demanded things that no one in the EU could agree to, it was not in their interests to do so.
We hit a brick wall.
The EU offered a standard WTO Trade Deal, we rejected it, we wanted more.
We told the other Countries we have Free Trade Deals with as part of the EU what the replacement Trade Deals with the UK would be.
Such arrogance, they said get lost.
Those few we have managed to agree have not been on the same terms, they are worse for us.
Some simply rebuffed us.
We hired one of the best Trade Negotiators in the World, and then ignored him and his team, our Politicians decided they knew better.
The EU just ploughed on, signing massive new trade deals, which we are not part of.
We have been replaced in terms of Trading GDP.
The only thing the EU are losing is our Nett Contribution.
This amounts to naff all, £500 Million a year for each EU Country.
Some will be hit more, some less.
A No Deal will result in the EU making a Taxation Profit from UK Services, our biggest Export , with they are taking.
There will be huge ructions in the EU as France and Germany will be reluctant to give up their share of it.
Our Politicians have mishandles this so, so, badly.
We could have been out within 2 years, no paying for a Transition Period, away and free.
May had a majority, she lost it at the Election, we are now in the hands of a few nutters.
The solution to the problem was very simple.
A WTO Free Trade Deal, no tariffs on goods and agriculture.
Absolutely no need for a Hard Border in Ireland, no checks at all.
The only Border would have been in the Irish Sea, and that would only have been for Health Checks, really easy to do at our Ports,.
It would have meant another 65 Port Health Inspectors.
It would have meant another 700 at the Channel Crossings, these would have been done outside Dover, at a new facility 3 miles up the Motorway.
All rejected.
Trade would have flowed, no job losses in manufacturing, zero tariffs on cars and car parts.
The stupidity of our Politicians is amazing.
Don't blame solely the Remainder MPs, I have no time for them at all.
The DUP and ERG have ruled the roost, they have a different Agenda.
