Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Oh RJ will ya sing us a ditty?
One with a tra la la la
You know how we all lurv ya ditties
Especially sat at the bar!

Oh RJ can you carous like carouseo?
Or does it make you turn blue round the gills
Can ya hit double F , like a streaming war jet
So they can hear you tra la tra la tra la

Oh RJ you seem to be trembling?
Are you excited and ready to go
We will stand and applause, and hold on to our draws
Until you have finished last note

Oh RJ that was majestic for sure
Old Pugs fainted and fell to the floor
And Jems in a swoon and spittie way out of tune [again!]
Well me and old sweetie will applaud!

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Oh,dear,it seems prose is a subject of mirth,
rather than valued for what it expresses.
Apparently 'coarse' is what the mass wants,
complete with 'low stance' it possesses.

Now naturally one won't point out the fool,
unaware his spell-checker is Yank,
so has American versions of words, and that's all,
which to most,is a tiresome prank.

Plus the grumpies have started to whinge at the rhymes,
all fed-up at having stakes raised.
Because jocular rhyming is so far beyond them,
when all they want is adulation and praise.

Y'see it takes rhythm along with the rhyme,
a cadence that moves to a beat.
It's rather like writing a rock song or sound-track,
with a beautiful 'undertone' beat.

But forsooth I have mentioned,
without fear or favour,
the way to write a 'join in' rock song.
All you do is get rhythm to match with the cadence,
then everyone will sing along!

Sigh ... bugger off.

I have a 1957 original Semi-acoustic to re-string.
Anon,good people...sleep well.

This is boring...I'm alone out here-not a soul to talk with on the whole jerkin' planet! Ergo, time to plug in my freshly-restrung guitar, now the strings have stretched-in a bit. Time for a few Quo simple three-chord rock riffs,to get it nicely played-in.
Laters,y'all.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

I like poetry, but as of now I am fed up with it.

There have been some very worthy attempts at poetry of late, but , as Pug has pointed out, there is more, much more to poetry than simply writing rhyming couplets. I include myself in this respect.I am the major culprit
No disrespect intended, the aforementioned rhyming couplets still deserve our appreciation
