A little (true) story.


Was in hospital having had surgery on my stomach - so therefore had lots of stitches (both internal and external). Dragon brought me my newspaper. There was a section in the paper which reported court cases which I had an interest in.

One particular case that was reported was of a farmer who was suing a vet for malicious damage to his barn. The Farmer's field grew a particular weed which gave his cattle a lot of flatulence. The farmer summoned the vet to deal with one particular cow who was suffering rather more than the others. Farmer brought cow into the yard for the vet to treat. Behind the cow was a pile of straw and behind that a dutch barn full of hay. The vet was a pipe smoker. From his bag the vet extracted a long plastic tube which he proceeded to insert into the cow's rectum. The cow passed wind, a stray spark from the vet's pipe ignited the gas and a jet of flame issued from the cow's rear end which ignited the bale of straw. This in a very short space of time spread to the hay inside the farmer's dutch barn and before the Fire Brigade could attend, the dutch barn and the hay it contained were completely destroyed.

As I said earlier I was laying in a hospital bed with a load of stitches across my stomach. I had been told not to laugh as this might burst those stitches. However, whilst reading this story I couldn't help but laugh which put a painful strain on my stitches. Oh and the farmer lost his case!!!
