But they 'do' see behind the eye gal, they can even detect tumours ..................

Hi Tessa, please do not be shy. Tummy trouble can be the result of joint pain if you are favouring one limb and walking lopsided, do not take my word as I am not a medic but bear my words in mind and good luck

Years ago I was in just such a situation as yourself, I too was reluctant to see my GP due to the number of specialists I was seeing for various problems .... then low and behold, one problem was cured and all of them disappeared. It turned out that one problem was causing them all, every specialist I saw had his own little area of knowledge, if they had collaborated I would have been cured in double quick time.

Re: Eye pain

There are only so many things that a pain in the eye can be, and if it fits into any of the well known and documented eye problems then there will usually be additional symptoms that will help your doctor in his diagnosis.
Be assured that if there was a serious problem then the pain would be constant and not transitory.
Stop worrying and check things like .... Am I sleeping in a draught or am I driving the car with the window open causing a draught on my face or similar things that could be causing some intermittent pain.

Be a nuisance !! After hardly ever going to the docs, I went with a variety of symptoms over several months and my doctor was marvellous and sent me for several blood tests, scans etc. Turned out I have coeliac disease and am now beginning to feel much better.
I just didn't feel 'right' but she was determined to get to the bottom of it - so glad she did !
Go back and see a different doctor and explain that it's not in your imagination and ask if there is anything they might be missing.

Re: Eye pain

Pain behind or in the eye should never be ignored. Mine turned out to be ophthalmic shingles and uveitis.

I agree about getting the pressure checked too, so yes do try another optician. Tell them, tell anybody, of your concern.

Good luck, and keep us informed.

Re: Eye pain

I wonder if it's related to fybromyalgia as you have it too Patsy.
If I'd know how painful getting old is I wouldn't have bothered! 😀
