I watched the Alan Titchmarsh prog last night.... it was a change.I have not watched Gardeners World since Monty Don left, must get into the habit again.

Doubtful Azz but certainly not impossible, at least you have tried and if it does not work nothing is lost.
The suckered offspring I mentioned earlier might be the best option, look out for a couple or three but don't take them until about September and plant them at once.

Doing it that way will not ruin the donor plant which can only be a good thing.

Dip them in Rooting powder and put in a small pot to root.
