Cassie I think the tree is a sort of Birch, the trunks are beautiful,like polished copper. lovely garden, lucky you.

Yes 4 is Sambucus which has different varities it has pink flowers in Summer...lovely plant.

Thanks both Not sure about the flowers as ive missed them and all thats left are tiny shrivelled bits. There's some amaazing stuff in this garden and i'm delighted.

The tree is absolutely stunning and shines like a squaddies boots

Don't think no 4 is sambuccus - the leaf doesn't look right. Think it could be heuchera? Has reddish leaves and tiny pink flowers that do shrivel. Sambuccus would have berries after the flowers.

I think your tree is Prunus Tibetica. One of the flowering cherries.
