Labour Data provider to be fined

Hi

Labour bought a ruck of data from a company which is being fined for supplying it,

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44794635

I find this use of personal data by political parties disturbing.

Presumably this data was purchased in 'good faith', otherwise the Data Commissioners would be fining the Labour Party too.

You wouldn't be saying that if it was the Conservatives. there is only one reason they wanted it just before an election.

Since I'm not a member of the Labour Party, I have no idea why they wanted that information, however it could be to ensure that all the young mothers had claimed Child Benefit and family credit.
