Re: Tomato Plants (updated @ post 14)

I've tried the plum tomatoes too Alan and I've decided against growing them again, for the same reason. Not a nice flavour at all.
I grew yellow cherry last year and was very impressed, sweet and firm.
I saved seeds from one fruit and planted them a couple of weeks ago, been waiting and waiting, yesterday I noticed about 30 seedlings
Anyone want a couple dozen?

What wonderful looking plants - what did you make the trough from - does it have a 'bottom' and what compost did you use? I have tried large pots and grow bags with very average results.

[/IMG] Photo taken today. The plants are a good 15 ins taller than they were 3 weeks ago when I took the previous photo. I've never known them to grow so fast, it must be due to the warm weather we've just had.

[/IMG] The third truss is now flowering and there are tomatoes the size of peas on the first truss. They're looking good.

Wow Alan, I'm impressed. Can see the green toms too!
Mine are flowering but only half your size and still a bit yellow.
