Re: My Pieris.

I have a big Pieris to move, it is in a very large pot, and I have to move it into our latest project, a large raised flower bed.

It was a very large pond with pergola over it 22ft. x 8 ft. x 6 ft deep, it cost me £9,000 to build and £1,500 to fill in, I am pleased with the result.
It will be the first time since I was 6 years old that I haven't had a pond.

Re: My Pieris.

I moved the pieris this morning, it was a hard job, I estimate it's weight was between one and half cwt. and two cwt.
I had to cut the pot round it as not to damage the root, manage to get it on a plank with the wife's help, and we slid it up into a hole we had dug.
We put plenty of ericasious plant food in the hole and round it.
Hope it survives, I know it is a bad time to move anything, but sometimes you have to gamble when it comes to gardening..

Me too!

They really are a lovely plant and we call them Flame of Forest. Mine died on me, but then again, my fingers are far from green. More of a rust colour.

That pond must have been an impressive sight Arthur.
I hope you take some photo's when your new project is finished. You don't do things by halves, do you
